Surgical Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30). Every other weekend required.

Job Description

The Surgical Cardiac Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide care for patients undergoing surgical procedures related to cardiac and vascular health. This role requires experience in telemetry and the ability to float to similar units as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor patients with cardiac conditions, specifically post-operative cardiac and vascular patients.
• Perform telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Administer blood products and manage trach care, chest tubes, and IV lines.
• Conduct breathing treatments, cardioversion/defibrillation, and epicardial pacer management.
• Ensure proper management of vasoactive drips and cardiac medications.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 2-3 years of surgical telemetry experience.
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certification required.
• Experience with open heart surgery, vascular procedures, and telemetry skills.
• Ability to manage IV skills, including IV insulin protocols and heparin management.
• Experience in pre/post-operative care for cardiac and vascular patients.
• Knowledge of VAD and TAVR procedures is optional but preferred.
