Make a meaningful impact in a school setting by leveraging your occupational therapy expertise! This contract position, conveniently located near San Bernardino and Rancho Cucamonga, CA, offers a unique opportunity for a dedicated Occupational Therapist (OT) or experienced Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to cover a leave from mid-August through January 2027. Engage with students and staff, fostering independence and improved fine motor skills through both in-person and teletherapy services.
Key Qualifications:
- Active licensure as an OT or eligible COTA in California
- Proven experience supporting K-12 student populations
- Familiarity with school-based OT practices and teletherapy platforms
- Strong background in fine motor skill development and interventions
- Collaborative mindset for working with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services to students—with focus on both direct intervention and consultative support
- Assess student needs, develop individualized plans, and implement age-appropriate therapy activities
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents
- Adapt strategies for virtual delivery as needed; utilize evidence-based teletherapy practices
- Mentor, support, and collaborate with colleagues, integrating best educational and therapy practices
- Ensure compliance with all relevant school policies, state guidelines, and ethical standards
