Provide tutoring to students with coursework in an office environment or online Work with tutee to develop a tutoring plan that fits the student’s individual needs Offer assistance with developing study strategies Make file notes and communicate with professor, academic coaches and/or director about student progress per department policies Operate computer and other resources to provide tutoring on-site or remotely Be accessible to students who have come for assistance Complete paperwork in a timely manner Assistant with the facilitation in the distance learning classroom Support students in the development of vital college success skills such as executive functioning and study skills Serve as a case-manager/academic coach for high-support students Facilitating the virtual component of IVDL courses or distance-learning courses in a physical classroom Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts earned by date of employment; significant tutoring and/or teaching experience (education and experience may be gained concurrently). Consideration may be given to candidates with experience working with a wide variety of students with academic risk factors; explain concepts to others effectively; work comfortably with people from diverse backgrounds; possess good organizational skills; exhibit patience and positive attitudes in establishing an encouraging learning environment; and Miami University classroom experience.
