We're looking for a Biotech Health Data Governance Lead to ensure that clinical trial and research data is accurate, traceable, compliant, and ready to power scientific discovery, regulatory submissions, and advanced AI-driven analytics.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for experienced professionals in biotech, life sciences, or regulated data environments who want to do meaningful work at the intersection of science and cutting-edge AI.

What You'll Do

• Govern biotech research and clinical trial data to ensure accuracy, lineage, and full auditability for scientific analysis and regulatory submissions
• Define and enforce data policies covering classification, access controls, security protocols, and metadata standards across research, clinical, regulatory, and partner teams
• Enable secure, governed data access for analytics, innovation pipelines, and external collaborations — while rigorously protecting confidential and patient-related information
• Identify data quality gaps and drive improvements that strengthen compliance and research integrity
• Collaborate cross-functionally with scientific, IT, compliance, and business stakeholders to align data standards, workflows, and governance frameworks
• Support AI model development by ensuring underlying biotech and clinical datasets meet the highest standards of quality and trustworthiness

Who You Are

• Experienced in leading or implementing data governance programs within biotech, life sciences, clinical research, or regulated data environments
• Strong command of data privacy, security, compliance, and regulatory expectations specific to research and clinical trial data
• Comfortable navigating complex, cross-functional environments — bridging scientific, technical, and business teams around shared data standards
• Detail-oriented and systematic, with a track record of building governance frameworks that hold up under regulatory scrutiny
• Self-directed and reliable when working independently in an asynchronous, remote setting

Nice to Have

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training data pipelines
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GCP, GDPR, or HIPAA as applied to research data
• Background in clinical data management, bioinformatics, or health informatics
• Experience working with external research partners or CROs on data governance protocols
