ServiceNow CMDB & IT Asset Management Analyst

Role: ServiceNow CMDB / IT Asset Management Analyst Location: Newark, NJ - Hybrid Duration: 6+ months You will drive the day-to-day operational compliance, lifecycle tracking, and data integrity for both our ServiceNow CMDB and IT Asset Management (ITAM) repositories. This hands-on role focuses on building lifecycle reports, identifying data and financial alignment gaps, and actively partnering with technical and procurement teams to ensure remediation. Technology Lifecycle Governance Analyst CMDB & IT Asset Management Role Overview This role is responsible for advancing technology lifecycle governance across the ServiceNow CMDB and IT Asset Management repositories by ensuring technology assets and configuration items are accurately maintained, lifecycle risks are identified and remediated, and governance practices are consistently applied across the enterprise. The position partners with engineering teams, technology owners, asset owners, and operational stakeholders to improve data quality, strengthen lifecycle compliance, support audit and risk obligations, and deliver actionable reporting that enables informed technology investment, remediation, and risk management decisions. Key Responsibilities Technology Lifecycle Governance Establish and maintain technology lifecycle governance standards, processes, policies, and roadmaps across supported technology domains. Ensure lifecycle decisions align with security, risk, operational resilience, performance, compliance, and cost management objectives. Drive adoption of lifecycle governance practices and support continuous improvement initiatives. Lifecycle Risk Management Maintain visibility of technologies approaching or exceeding End of Life (EOL), End of Support (EOS), deprecated, or otherwise non-compliant status. Identify lifecycle-related risks and partner with stakeholders to define remediation plans and timelines. Support lifecycle exception reviews and maintain documentation of approved risk acceptances, remediation commitments, and exception expiration dates. Data Quality & Compliance Establish, monitor, and report on CMDB and ITAM data quality metrics to support accurate lifecycle decision-making. Identify data gaps, stale records, ownership issues, and compliance exceptions impacting operational effectiveness or risk exposure. Partner with data owners and support teams to drive remediation of data quality deficiencies. Reporting & Governance Metrics Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and reporting that provide visibility into lifecycle compliance, technology risk exposure, remediation status, CMDB health, and asset inventory accuracy. Define and track key governance metrics and performance indicators. Prepare lifecycle risk summaries and governance reporting for technology leadership, risk management, compliance, and audit stakeholders. Remediation & Stakeholder Engagement Partner with engineering teams, technology owners, asset owners, and Configuration Item (CI) owners to develop upgrade, migration, retirement, and remediation plans. Monitor remediation progress, remove obstacles, and escalate persistent lifecycle risks or non-compliance issues. Facilitate governance discussions and promote accountability for lifecycle compliance across technology teams. Audit & Compliance Support Support internal and external audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews by providing evidence of lifecycle governance activities, technology inventories, and remediation tracking. Ensure lifecycle governance processes align with applicable policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Required Skills & Experience Experience with ServiceNow CMDB and IT Asset Management (ITAM). Knowledge of technology lifecycle management, configuration management, governance, risk, and compliance practices. Experience creating dashboards and governance reporting using ServiceNow, Power BI, Excel, or similar tools. Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, risks, and data quality issues. Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
