Job Description

Job Summary:
The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for sterilizing and decontaminating medical instruments, ensuring all surgical tools are properly cleaned, assembled, and prepared for procedures. This role supports surgical teams by maintaining high standards of infection control and workflow efficiency.

Responsibilities:

• Sterilize, decontaminate, and assemble surgical instruments according to facility protocols.
• Inspect equipment for damage or wear, ensuring functionality and safety.
• Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization processes and instrument tracking.
• Collaborate with surgical and clinical staff to meet department needs.
• Adhere to infection control policies and safety standards.
• Float within scope and assist at sister facilities as required.

Qualifications:

• Possess at least 2 years of experience in sterile processing or surgical instrumentation.
• Hold a CBSPD and/or HSAP certification.
• Demonstrate proficiency in sterilization, decontamination, and instrument wrapping.
• Have experience with neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, or gynecologic cases preferred.
• Present a current South Carolina RN license or applicable credentials.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, trauma-level environment with attention to detail.
