General Pediatrician

Overview Position: General Pediatrician at Children’s Mercy Kansas City, affiliated with the Division of General Academic Pediatrics (CMKC). The role focuses on outpatient clinical service for approximately 40,000 children and adolescents at the Pediatric Care Clinic (PCC), a medical home for medically and socially complex families from Kansas City. Responsibilities Provide well‑child, EPSDT, same‑day illness, and chronic medical condition management visits. Conduct eight half‑day clinics per week, plus two half‑days devoted to education and administrative tasks. Respond to evening and weekend clinical duties as needed. Serve approximately three weeks of academic‑year outpatient phone call service. Teach and mentor students, residents, and physician assistant students in outpatient and inpatient settings. Participate in quality improvement, research, and advocacy initiatives. Qualifications Board‑certified in general pediatrics. Qualified for the rank of assistant or associate professor. Excellent clinical and interpersonal skills. Desirable: fluency in Spanish (not required). Immunization Requirements The seasonal influenza vaccine is a condition of employment for all staff. New employees must also be vaccinated against measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox, and have evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005.
