Pediatric Occupational Therapist

Required Skills: Must be able to communicate effectively using written and verbal communication. 1-2 years of experience working with children birth - 3 years of age is preferred. Must have basic computer skills. Must be comfortable working in homes. Degree in Occupational Therapy accredited by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). Knowledge of normal child development/milestones birth to three-year-old. California OT License. Physical Requirements: Must be able to travel to and from assigned cases including but not limited to driving personal vehicle, walking, and/or use of public transportation such as a bus or train. The ability to climb and descend staircases. The ability to lift 10 pounds regularly. The ability to sit on the floor, kneel, and/or crawl for extended periods. Spanish speaking beneficial. Job Responsibilities: Work involves developmental screening/assessment (ex: Bayley 4, DAYC-2, Sensory Profile, etc.) occupational therapy services, initial evaluations creating initial goals, discharge reports, consultation with family members and other professionals working with the family. Educate family members and caregivers on different intervention strategies to facilitate active involvement and carry-over at community settings. Follow Individualized Service Plan, plan ongoing treatment, and interprets goals and treatment plan to parents and makes recommendations for further developmental assessments as needed. Prepares progress reports at six month intervals. Analyze the best exercises and activities to help the patient reach goals. Maintains client records and submit them to agency within established deadlines through provided program. Other duties assigned by immediate supervisor within scope of work.
