Essential Job Duties Provides approved assistance to Anesthesiologists / CRNA’s during the induction, maintenance and emergence from Anesthesia. Assists the anesthesiologists/ CRNA’s with the placement of regional anesthetics and invasive monitoring devices. Maintains on a daily and case to case basis, the equipment and supplies necessary to provide quality and cost effective anesthesia care to all patients cared for by the Anesthesia Department. Applies principles of infection control and safety, including proper handling, cleaning, sterilizing and/or disposal of equipment or supplies used in regular and contaminated cases. Sets up sterile equipment, such as intravenous, central venous, arterial and pulmonary artery catheters using sterile technique. Sets up, operates, and disassembles cell saver equipment and rapid infuser devices as assigned. Performs all standard procedural checks on equipment; reports any malfunctioning equipment to supervisor. Ensures the sterility and cleanliness of specialized equipment, including TEE’s, fiber optic scopes and LMA’s. Ensures workroom areas are clean and orderly before, during and after each shift. Performs other job related duties as assigned. This is a full-time overnight position working Monday through Friday 10pm-6am. This position is located at NYP/Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Preferred Criteria Two to three years' experience, as an anesthesia technician Certification by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT) Required Criteria High School Diploma or GED Minimum one year of experience as an anesthesia technician Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification Join a healthcare system where employee engagement is at an all-time high.
