Job Summary:
Operating Room (OR) Nurse in Springfield, Illinois. This position involves providing specialized surgical nursing care within a Level I trauma center's acute care hospital. The role requires managing a variety of surgical procedures across multiple service lines, with an emphasis on trauma and general OR practices.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Rotating shift with 10-hour hours, minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: BLS certification required; CNOR certification preferred. Active Illinois license in hand or in application process. At least 3 years of OR experience, including general surgery and level I trauma experience.
• Preferred Qualifications: Cerner experience, Level I trauma certification, and experience with laparoscopic assisted cases, organ donation, and complex trauma procedures.
• Travel Experience Required: Yes.
• Additional Information:
  • Must work one weekend shift per month.
  • On-call requirement: 1/week, with less frequency expected currently.
  • No float within scope but rare floating may occur.
  • No flexibility for block scheduling.
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility and have an active Illinois license.
  • The facility handles all service lines except cardiovascular (CV).
  • Key skills include handling advanced equipment like electrosurgical units, Hana tables, and da Vinci Xi Surgical System.
  • Responsibilities involve management of various surgical cases such as appendectomy, cholecystectomy, laparoscopic procedures, trauma-related surgeries, and more.
  • All candidates must review and confirm RTO requests, start date, and compliance requirements prior to submission.
