The Applications Engineer will be supporting Ethernet, PCIe and USB products. The Applications Engineer enables the customers to be successful using Microchip products. They do this in the following ways:* Coordinate with the global sales organization to ensure they have the material needed to answer customer questions.* Generate and present training material on Microchip products to customers, distributors, partners and internal Microchip support teams.* Answering questions from Field Sales engineers and customers during the development process.* Creating collateral that improves the user experience for the user. This includes: + Application Notes + Knowledgebase Articles + Technical Training Slides + Implementation Manuals* Identifying gaps in the current enablement material, and proactively setting goals to address the gaps observed while supporting customers.* Creating high level requirements to the development teams that can improve the customer experience with new product development.**Requirements/Qualifications:**The Applications Engineer position has the following requirements* Bachelors of Science or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related fields with 10+ years of relevant experience.* Strong Knowledge of communication protocols and wired signaling concepts.* Strong experience in customer support and customer enablement.* Knowledge of large and small group technical training techniques.* Knowledge of program management and project management techniques.**Travel Time:**0% - 25%**Physical Attributes:**Hearing, Seeing, Talking, Works Alone, Works Around Others**Physical Requirements:**80% sitting, 10% walking, 10% standingMicrochip Technology Inc is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
