Field Safety Sales Specialist

Job Overview Field Safety Sales Specialist – Honolulu, HI Salary Range: $70,000–$80,000 plus commission. Responsibilities Responsible for the management and profitable growth of Airgas business within the state of Hawaii, including all neighboring islands. Meet and exceed corporate and regional objectives for sales growth, profitability, and accounts receivable management in the assigned territory, selling all Airgas products to the customer base. Adhere to and assure compliance with the Code of Conduct, policies, and all applicable federal, state, and regulatory requirements. Develop and execute regional, company‑specific sales and marketing plans. Actively pursue and acquire new and competitive accounts with an emphasis on profit margin. Review regional sales goals and gross profit margins, monitoring the effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts. Establish and maintain clear communication with internal departments regarding customer successes, failures, new developments, and other customer‑specific information. Travel throughout the assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers. Identify and qualify prospective customers in the territory, keeping the direct manager informed. Interpret customer needs and make appropriate recommendations to increase sales opportunities. Research and analyze market data to determine new customers, sales volume potential, pricing, and develop a strategy to meet sales targets. Serve as a resource for other sales representatives by assisting them with customer sales calls and providing product and industry training, recommendations, and presentations. Qualifications Ability to multitask in a high‑volume setting. Strong analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written. Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook. Ability to perform basic arithmetic conversions (fraction to decimal, decimal to fraction). Proficient in computer use and basic knowledge of Excel, SAP, Salesforce, Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides). Professional presence and demeanor reflective of a corporate environment. High energy, self‑starter, and strong customer service and relationship orientation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, plus strong organizational and time‑management skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence, effectively present information, and respond to questions from associates and management. Ability to travel overnight for onsite meetings within the territory. Education and Experience High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum 3–5 years of related outside sales experience. Knowledge of safety products and services desired. Proven change‑management skills, including building sponsorship, communications, and stakeholder management. Valid driver’s license and personal vehicle with insurance coverage as required by the company. QSSP, OSHA 30 certification is a plus. Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required Associate regularly sits for long periods and stands to perform work, reaching with hands and arms, and must be able to lift, push, pull, or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Specific vision abilities required: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus; noise level is usually moderate to noisy; the associate may be exposed to extreme weather.
