Quality Manager

Maintain and continuously improve the company's ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System. Develop a strong understanding of Operations and Engineering processes to support cross-functional improvements. Cross-Train to provide backup support for Production Quality activities as needed. Collaborate with Engineering, Production Quality, Procurement, and Operations to ensure business continuity and quality compliance. Position Summary The Quality Manager provides leadership in developing, implementing, and continually improving the organization's Quality Management System (QMS). This position is responsible for maintaining ISO 9001:2015 compliance while supporting the implementation of any future standards. The Quality Manager partners with Customers, Suppliers, Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, and Sales to identify root causes, implement corrective and preventive actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction, product quality, and operational performance. The role serves as the company's Quality Leader and Management Representative during internal and external quality audits. Quality Management Systems Develop, implement, and improve quality processes, systems, procedures, and training programs. Ensure that the Quality Management System supports company objectives and customer requirements. Develop or procure inspection equipment, software, and measurement systems necessary to maintain quality standards. Recommend improvements to personnel, equipment, procedures, and quality standards. Work with suppliers to ensure incoming materials consistently meet quality requirements. Maintain ISO 9001:2015 certification. Serve as the Quality Management Representative during internal and external audits. Coordinate with third-party registration registrars and certification bodies. Corrective and Preventive Actions Analyze quality data to determine root causes of defects and non-conformances. Develop, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Lead investigations involving customer complaints, supplier issues, and internal quality concerns. Apply Lean and Total Quality Management (TQM) principles to drive continuous improvement. Monitor quality trends and recommend process improvements that reduce non-conforming events. Develop strategies to improve response times and customer satisfaction. Quality Assurance & Compliance Review daily production and secondary inspection activities. Ensure timely disposition of non-conforming materials. Analyze customer complaints and internal NCRs. Prepare, review, and approve: First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation Corrective Action Reports Quality documentation and records Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and internal quality requirements. Evaluate new customer and regulatory requirements and integrate them into the Quality Management System. Strategic Responsibilities Balance quality, production, engineering, purchasing, and customer priorities when resolving quality issues. Lead continuous improvement initiatives that improve quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Develop and maintain expertise in sealing materials, sealing technologies, and company products. Participate in internal and external training opportunities to expand technical knowledge. Support supplier development by working with reliable vendors capable of consistently delivering high-quality products while supporting company profitability. Develop, Improve, Report Company KPI’s Tactical Responsibilities Coordinate quality-related activities between Production, Engineering, Procurement, Sales, Customer Service, and Operations. Investigate customer complaints and internal non-conformance reports. Perform and oversee secondary inspections. Review and approve FAIRs, PPAPs, and other quality documentation. Communicating quality concerns involving materials, engineering changes, deviations, and customer requirements. Utilize Prophet 21 (P21) ERP software to review orders, inventory, supply chain information, and quality-related reporting. Required Skills and Qualifications Technical Skills Strong analytical and root cause investigation skills. Experience with Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) systems. Working knowledge of quality tools, methodologies, and statistical analysis. Ability to understand manufacturing processes and recommend effective process improvements. Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 quality system. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based software. Professional Skills Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Supervisory Responsibilities This position currently has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Future supervisory responsibilities may be assigned as the organization grows. This position operates in both a professional office environment and a manufacturing setting. Daily activities require regular interaction with production personnel, engineering staff, suppliers, and customers. Standard office equipment including computers, telephones, printers, and copiers is routinely used. Work Schedule This is a full-time exempt position. Typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Additional hours may be required to support business needs, customer requirements, audits, or project deadlines. Travel Requirements Travel is expected approximately 5-10% of the time. Travel may include: Quality audits Industry training Domestic and occasional international travel Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Minimum of four (4) years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, or Engineering. Demonstrated knowledge of Quality Management Systems and corrective action processes. Experience with root cause analysis and continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and quality specifications. Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Valid driver's license with the ability to travel as required. Ability to remain seated or stand for extended periods as required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Windows operating systems. Preferred Qualifications ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM), or similar certification. Lead Auditor certification. Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma experience.
