Accountant II

WAGO is the backbone of a smart, connected world. WAGO is seeking a reliable and versatile Accountant II to manage the day-to-day accounting operations for both our U.S. and Canadian entities. In this dynamic role, you will combine traditional accounting responsibilities like journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting with compliance, payroll auditing, tax filings, budget support, and internal controls. Because this position also serves as a critical backup to the Accounting Manager, we are looking for a professional with a high level of reliability and the cross-functional knowledge needed to step up when called upon. Experience And Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2-3 years of financial accounting experience; manufacturing environment preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office and SAP or similar ERP systems Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, Canadian accounting standards, tax regulations, and payroll principles Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality Duties and Responsibilities Prepare journal entries, GL reconciliations, and financial statements for multiple business units Manage banking activities for Canada and provide backup for U.S. operations Maintain fixed assets and conduct bank reconciliations for corporate accounts Review freight/duty rates for intercompany shipments and monitor budget variances Assist with annual budget development, financial estimates, and external audits Ensure compliance with U.S. Sales Tax and Canadian GST/HST filings Audit payroll activities, calculate fringe benefits, and manage 401(k) deposits Prepare confidential journal entries and support policy development for accounting and internal controls Serve as backup to the Accounting Manager as needed This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this employee.
