Job Summary We are currently seeking qualified candidates for an immediate opening to join our team as an associate technology design consultant. This full‑time position is anticipated to be remote, with some travel to project sites required. The associate design consultant supports the successful delivery of technology consulting projects during the design phase, coordinating activities, maintaining alignment across teams, and ensuring disciplined project execution under the direction of senior team members. Key Responsibilities Coordination and Communication Support design‑phase coordination by completing assigned internal deliverables. Incorporate documented project requirements into work products. Contribute to meeting preparation through accurate documentation and materials. Escalate obvious gaps, inconsistencies, or questions to senior team members. Build productive working relationships through clear written communication. Design Development and Technical Documentation Support senior team members in project delivery through execution of assigned design‑phase tasks, including preparation of technical documentation, product research, coordination, QA reviews and supporting materials. Draft and maintain project documentation, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Assist with coordination of AV and communications infrastructure requirements with related low‑voltage systems. Participate in internal and cross‑discipline design reviews, documenting feedback and updating work products. Participate in QA reviews of design deliverables and support construction coordination activities. Support site observations and verifications by documenting conditions and findings. Internal Responsibilities Contribute to Waveguide’s internal knowledge base and consulting community by documenting lessons learned. Support established design‑phase consulting workflows and identify basic inefficiencies or documentation gaps. Develop foundational knowledge in AV, Telecom and Acoustics; achieve AVIXA CTS certification within the first year of employment. Travel: up to 25% local, domestic and occasionally international travel to attend design coordination meetings and support project delivery. Ensure responsible use of web‑based AI tools with a strong understanding of data protection and privacy best practices. Qualifications One to two years of related professional experience in building engineering and design (electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, audiovisual and low‑voltage systems or similar) or equivalent education. Two‑year or higher degree in a relevant technical field required; four‑year degree preferred. AVIXA Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) credential preferred or commitment to achieve certification within 12 months. Fundamental understanding of project management principles and design and construction processes. Good knowledge of commercial and institutional AV technology applications and operations, including audio systems, video display technologies, video collaboration solutions, digital signage platforms, AV signal management and integrated control systems; experience with data networking is preferred. Suitable environment for audio and video calls; remote work anticipated when not traveling. Core Competencies Strong computer skills with proficiency in all MS Office applications, Bluebeam, and relevant AI tools. Ability to perform basic mathematics in a business environment. Commitment to relevant ongoing professional development and technical training. Ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables and shift priorities as necessary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to absorb and understand written business communication and respond professionally and hospitably in every situation.
