Hooks, Meng & Clement (HMC) is seeking a detail-oriented Appeals Specialist to join our growing Billing Department. This role is responsible for managing insurance claim denials, preparing appeals, and resolving billing issues to maximize reimbursement.

The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and an effective problem-solver with strong written communication skills. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and work well both independently and as part of a team.

$45,000+ annually salary

• Review denied claims or underpaid claims
• Prepare and submit appeals with supporting documentation
• Research payer policies and denial reasons
• Track appeal statuses and follow up with payers
• Communicate with the Billing Manager to gather needed information
• Maintain accurate documentation in billing systems
• Audit clients to ensure appeals are handled promptly

• 1+ year experience in law office billing, claims, or appeals
• Strong written communication skills
• Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
• Knowledge of denial codes & payer guidelines (preferred)
• Auditing skills (strongly preferred)
• Must reside in the Southern Nevada area, as this position is in the office
