Property Accountant

Job Title: Property Accountant Location: Greensboro, NC – In Person Department: Accounting/Finance Reports To: Controller Position Summary The Property Accountant is responsible for theday-to-day accounting and financial reporting for an assigned portfolioofmultifamily properties. This role ensures timely and accurate financialreporting, maintains the integrity of the general ledger, reconciles accounts,and partners with Property Management to support the financial operations ofeach property. Key Responsibilities Performday-to-day accounting functions for an assigned portfolio of properties,including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity,bank reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting. Preparejournal entries and supporting documentation for monthly close. Assistwith the monthly close process by completing assigned tasks accurately andon time. Preparemonthly financial statements and supporting schedules. Researchand explain budget-to-actual variances as requested. Reconcilebank accounts and balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis. Workclosely with Property Management to ensure financial records accuratelyreflect property operations. Assistwith annual budgets and forecasts for assigned properties. Reviewaccounts payable and accounts receivable activity to ensure transactionsare recorded accurately and timely. Processcapital expenditure requests and reserve funding requests as needed. Ensurecompliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and GAAP. Assistwith year-end audits and provide requested documentation. Participatein special projects and process improvement initiatives as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’sdegree in Accounting or Finance required 1–3years of accounting experience; property accounting experience preferred. Proficiencyin Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, and data analysis. Experiencewith Yardi Voyager is preferred. Basicunderstanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles. Strongorganizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities anddeadlines. Stronganalytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellentwritten and verbal communication skills. Abilityto work collaboratively with Property Management, ownership groups, andinternal team members. Detail-orientedwith a commitment to accuracy and continuous learning. #J-18808-Ljbffr
