Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team in a hybrid, mostly remote, position. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support to family law attorneys, assist clients through sensitive legal processes, and help ensure smooth case management from inception to resolution. Your proactive approach and organizational skills will contribute to delivering exceptional client service and efficient case handling. Responsibilities

• Assist attorneys with preparing legal documents, including petitions, financial affidavits, interrogatories, requests to produce, equitable distribution tables, child support guidelines and settlement agreements related to family law cases such as divorce, paternity actions, timesharing issues, and alimony.
• Conduct thorough legal research on family law statutes, case law, and procedural requirements using Westlaw.
• Interview clients, witnesses, and other parties to gather relevant information for case development while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
• Answering telephones.
• Coordinate court filings, service of process, and scheduling of hearings, depositions and mediations. Must be proficient with e-filing procedures and use of JAWS in Hillsborough, Pasco and Pinellas Counties.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding case updates, document requests, and procedural steps via phone, email or written correspondence.
• Support attorneys with administrative tasks such as data entry, proofreading documents, maintaining calendars, and managing deadlines to ensure timely case progression.
• Assist with gathering and organizing exhibits for trial.

Skills

• AA degree required.
• Proven experience in family law support roles with strong knowledge of procedural law related to divorce, timesharing, and related matters.
• Must have at least 4 years of recent experience working as a family law paralegal in Florida.
• Must live in the Tampa Bay area.
• Excellent writing skills and the ability to thoroughly proofread documents is essential.
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• MUST be proficient with Microsoft Office 365, Dropbox and Google.
• Experience using document management systems is a must, preferably Clio.
• Familiarity with Family Law Software to prepare financial affidavits and child support guidelines is preferred.
• Knowledge of confidentiality protocols for handling sensitive client information ethically and securely is required.
• Ability to perform legal case management tasks efficiently through research, document review, filing procedures, and data entry.

This is mostly a remote position. In office appearance will be required once every couple of weeks, or as requested by one of the attorneys, which will be rare.

Candidate must have an at-home quiet, dedicated work space as he/she will be answering phones and speaking with clients and potential clients.

Candidate may be subject to a background check as he/she will be working with sensitive information.
