Graduate Nurse

Overview Location: Backus Hospital (10309) Shift: 7:00pm–7:30am, 36 hours weekly. Rotating holidays. Every other weekend required. Job Summary Demonstrates clinical competence through utilization of the nursing process and development of a synergistic nurse-patient relationship. Assesses and identifies patient problems/needs, establishes a plan of care, and implements and evaluates care provided to patients. Qualifications Graduate of a school of Nursing. BSN preferred. One (1) year RN experience and/or successful completion of the Backus Hospital Nurse Residency Program. Current unrestricted license in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Basic knowledge of nursing principles and practices. Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions. Effective communication to provide technical or complex information and instruction; excellent interpersonal skills to work with departments, employees, physicians, managers, and patients. Ability to handle multiple priorities, be flexible, and be a team player. Ability to work in a stressful environment and maintain customer service focus. Basic computer knowledge to enter/retrieve data. Ability to analyze information from various sources, take appropriate action in response to changes or emergencies, and maintain confidentiality at all times. Every moment matters. #J-18808-Ljbffr
