Supervisor - Emergency Veterinary Technician

Emergency and Critical Care Clinical Supervisor Maine Veterinary Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated emergency and critical care clinical supervisor to lead the emergency and critical care team. This is a full‑time day shift position, working Thursday through Saturday, 6 p.m. – 6 a.m. Maine Veterinary Medical Center is located in Scarborough, ME. Salary: $32.00–$40.00 per hour based on experience. What You’ll Do Team Leadership: Lead and support technical staff through daily guidance, coaching, and feedback; partner on hiring, onboarding, and performance management; foster a collaborative, accountable team environment. Workflow & Operations: Oversee daily workflow, staffing, and patient flow; delegate responsibilities to support efficient, high‑quality care; identify and improve processes to enhance team efficiency. Patient Care: Ensure consistent, high‑quality nursing care across the department; support treatments, procedures, and diagnostics as needed; maintain accurate and complete medical records. Client Experience: Support a smooth, professional client experience; guide team interactions and assist with resolving concerns. Operations & Compliance: Ensure adherence to hospital policies and regulatory standards; communicate updates and expectations clearly to the team. Training & Development: Lead onboarding and ongoing training; support team growth and skill development. Hospital Environment: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized hospital; ensure compliance with safety and infection‑control protocols. Requirements Licensed, registered, or certified veterinary technician (or equivalent education/experience). Minimum of 3 years of veterinary hospital experience. Previous leadership, training, or supervisory experience preferred. Strong communication and client service skills. Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Able to lift 40–50 pounds. Employment will require the successful completion of references and background check.
