Job Description As a Corrections Security Officer - Entry Access in Charleston, SC , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer supporting a government correctional environment, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, monitor assigned areas, and communicate professionally with staff and visitors. Position Type: Full Time Pay Rate: $17.00 / Hour Job Schedule: Fri 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM Sat 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM Sun 06:00 AM - 06:00 PM What You'll Do: Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and other individuals at a government correctional location by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-control requirements, and emergency response activities when appropriate. Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and notification protocols. Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior and exterior areas, perimeters, access points, and parking areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns. Monitor entrances, exits, and authorized movement throughout the location; verify credentials and direct visitors in accordance with established procedures. Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and promptly, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal supervision and designated site contacts. Minimum Requirements: A valid driver's license is required in the state where the job is located. Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security-related supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience. Be at least 21 years of age. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
