Salary / Wage Information As per the SCEA Master Contract, $55,880 – $105,432 (based on 1.0 FTE). Includes a comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, vision, life, long‑term disability insurance, and a 3.75% 403(b) employer match. Duties and Responsibilities Design and implement instructional plans aligned with district standards and curriculum, tailored to the subject area(s) and unique needs of assigned students. Review, select, and modify materials and resources to carry out the curriculum plan. Accommodate delivery of instruction and assessment according to students’ unique learning strengths and challenges. Instruct students, consistently incorporating best teaching practices. Coordinate the instruction and related services in the student’s IEP and serve as the primary contact for the parent. Develop annual education plans (IEP) including present levels of performance, educational needs, goals, objectives, and general and special educational services. Ensure compliance with procedural requirements; communicate and coordinate among home, school, and other agencies, and between general and special education programs; schedule and facilitate team meetings. Coordinate due‑process procedures according to TSES. Maintain required records and data as per established policies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Establish and sustain positive, mutually respectful relationships with students in all settings. Participate and contribute actively to site educational and related programming to provide a broad‑based experience for students. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with support services staff, outside service vendors, and other resources to meet student needs. Work effectively with colleges and universities to provide practice teachers and education program candidates with practical learning experiences. Assess and evaluate results achieved through current teaching practices as the primary basis for ongoing instructional planning. Conduct special education initial and three‑year re‑evaluations. Assess and evaluate personal professional development needs and plan strategies to meet those needs. Perform other job‑related duties as requested or assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Formal preparation and appropriate licensure for the area(s) taught. Highly qualified for academic areas of instruction. Knowledge of current practices in curriculum and instruction for the level(s) and subject area(s) taught; ability to create timely, complete plans. Ability to design, deliver, and assess objectives at appropriate difficulty levels. Knowledge of special education due‑process rules and procedures. Knowledge of child growth, development, learning patterns, and principles of learning; ability to monitor student learning and adjust practices. Ability to develop instructional strategies that maximize student involvement and participation. Provide an honest, respectful, caring, and safe learning environment. Communicate behavior, learning, and interaction expectations to foster mutual respect, accountability, and cooperation. Facilitate alternative dispute resolution (ADR) procedures when appropriate. Maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, protocols, and procedures. Develop recommendations to advance educational and developmental missions of the site and district. Knowledge of appropriate resources inside and outside the district.
