Job Title

Registered Nurse – PACU

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | On-call required (approximately 1 night per week; weekends and holidays included)

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and care for patients in an 8-bay Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) immediately following surgery on a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Manage patient airways, pain levels, vital signs, and all post-surgical needs until the patient is ready for transfer
• Transport and transition patients to the appropriate unit for continued observation following PACU care
• Float to units of like acuity or less as needed
• Collaborate as part of a team-based Surgical Services department with emphasis on patient safety and patient satisfaction

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum of one year of main hospital PACU experience required
• Pediatric (Peds) experience in the OR required
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required and in hand at time of submission
• Active license and all required certifications must be verified with no open or unresolved findings

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in a PACU or Surgical Services setting
• Experience working in a high-acuity, fast-paced post-surgical environment
