Floor Care Specialists Position Overview: We are seeking skilled and highly exceptional Floor Care Specialists to join our EBS-4U team! You will be responsible for maintaining a clean and orderly environment. You must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, prolong standing, and frequent bending.   Able to use and operate floor machines is critical .  You must have reliable transportation and be able to work in Houston, TX (zip code 77030).

Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Naturalized Citizen and be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Unless otherwise specified, all personnel will be working 40 hours a week spread out to cover 7 days a week (Sun.-Sat.); including the eleven holidays observed by the Department of Veterans Affairs. The candidate shall generally perform all work between the hours of
6:00pm-5:00am

Responsibilities and duties involve a combination of the following:

• Sweeping, mopping of floors.
• Vacuuming carpets.
• Removing trash and other refuse.
• Dusting equipment, furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces.
• Polishing metal fixtures, porcelain bathroom fixtures or trimmings.
• Replenishing supplies such as: toilet tissue, paper towels, soap, etc. as required.
• Cleaning lavatories and other bathroom fixtures.
• Reporting need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures.
• Perform heavy cleaning duties such as: sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, burnish, and polishing of floors
• Walls cleaned from the floor upward to three feet
• Perform routine floor maintenance tasks: stripping, refinishing hard and resilient flooring and other surfaces
• Organize custodial closets and spaces
• Maintain working condition of cleaning equipment

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or other related fields
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills
• Certified Executive Housekeeper (C.E.H.) is a plus.
• Ability to speak and read fluently in English.

Minimum Experience – Have at least two years’ experience as a janitor or Floor Care in a commercial/healthcare/industrial building or hotel/motel.

Minimum Education – High school diploma or equivalent; Sufficient to read, write and speak the English language.
