Grade 3 Classroom Teacher

Located a mile from the Atlantic Ocean and 15 minutes from Portland, Loranger Memorial School is a 260 student, grades 3-8 school within RSU 23 seeking a Grade 3 Classroom Teacher to join our faculty for the start of the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate should possess the following:

CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

• Citizenship, residency or work visa
• Maintains or is eligible for Maine Department of Education Teaching Certificate (020)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Extensive knowledge of the Common Core State Standards and Maine Learning Results
• In-depth understanding of curriculum, instruction, and assessment as it relates to proficiency-based education
• Extensive knowledge and skills in elementary instructional practices
• Willingness to collaborate with teachers, administrators, community leaders and other stakeholders to ensure highly effective educational programming for all students
• Demonstrated ability to deliver rigorous, relevant, and differentiated instruction to students of varying abilities
• Ability to integrate technology to support and enhance instruction
• Knowledge and experience utilizing PBIS strategies to manage the classroom
• Willingness and openness to try new techniques and methods and incorporate current best practices in instruction as well as taking professional and educational risks
• Interest in participating in the school community outside of the classroom
• Ability to effectively engage all students in relevant, inquiry-based learning experiences
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders within the school community
