Join to apply for the Employment Specialist role at The Arc Madison Cortland SUMMARY The Employment Specialist is responsible for providing employment services and support to individuals with disabilities seeking job placement and career development. This role involves assessing clients' skills, interests, and experience to match them with suitable employment opportunities using a person centered approach. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Client Assessment and Support- Meet one-on-one with clients to assess their skills, work history, and career goals. Job Matching and Placement- Identify suitable job opportunities for clients by matching their skills and qualifications with employer requirements. Coaching Engagement- Job coaching includes on and off site learning and teaching a wide variety of job tasks, serving as an advocate and liaison between employer and client, assessing the clients’ needs on the job site as they arise. Program Development and Administration- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client interactions, job placements, site visits and program outcomes. Community Collaboration- Partner with community organizations, vocational training providers, and government agencies to support clients' employment goals. Bachelor’s Degree with one year related experience preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Valid NYS Class D driver’s license.
