NSC Staffing has an immediate opening for a Senior Tax Accountant in Tucson, AZ. We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to prepare complex tax returns, manage client engagements, and mentor junior staff while delivering exceptional service to our clients. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex tax issues, managing multiple priorities, and taking ownership of client relationships.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare complex individual, partnership, S corporation, C corporation, and trust tax returns.
• Research tax issues and communicate practical solutions supported by tax authority.
• Prepare tax projections, estimates, extensions, and other compliance filings.
• Manage multiple client engagements while meeting deadlines and budget expectations.
• Respond to IRS and state tax notices and assist with tax examinations as needed.
• Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and provide proactive service.
• Keep current on changes in federal, state, and local tax law.

• Assist with training and developing junior staff members.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA or EA license (or recent and active progress toward CPA or EA licensure).
• 3–6+ years of recent public accounting tax experience.
• Strong technical tax research and analytical skills.
• Experience in preparing complex tax returns, including exposure to concepts of K-2/K-3, IRC §754, and trust accounting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A collaborative attitude with a willingness to mentor others and contribute to a positive team environment.
