Physician - Neuro-Ophthalmologist The University of Kansas Health System, Department of Ophthalmology, is seeking a Neuro-Ophthalmologist to join our team. This faculty member will provide comprehensive clinical and surgical services, engage in shared call coverage and inpatient consults, supervise medical students and residents in clinics and surgeries as well as participate in the didactic teaching program, as well as serve on departmental committees. This position will support the mission of delivering the highest quality of care, as well as satisfying teaching, research, and academic responsibilities. Academic rank commensurate with experience.
Candidates interested in research may be afforded protected time to complete clinical and bench research, but all candidates will be encouraged to participate in clinical research and scientific presentations at national/regional meetings in addition to their clinical and teaching duties. Additionally, the role includes providing services to the VA and other sites under a Professional Services Agreement with The University of Kansas Health System. Required Qualifications

- MD or DO (or equivalent)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology (ACGME-accredited residency) with completion of a surgical Neuro-Ophthalmology fellowship OR Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology (ACGME-accredited residency) with completion of a surgical Neuro-Ophthalmology fellowship
- Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Kansas
- Clinical and surgical experience in a Neuro-Ophthalmology practice, including operating room experience
- Academic background involving teaching with interest in clinical or basic research is preferred.
- Successful in growing own research programs with the ability to obtain funding from public and private sources is desired.
