Job Title: Onsite BSP (Paraeducator Support) – High School (1:1)
Location: Wilmington, DE
Job Type: Full-Time (Short-Term Contract)
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:15 AM – 2:45 PM (37.5 hours/week)
Assignment Dates: May 4, 2026 – June 11, 2026
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraeducator Support (BSP) professional to provide 1:1 support for a high school student with complex medical and behavioral needs. This is an onsite position in a structured school environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct 1:1 support throughout the school day
- Assist with medical, behavioral, and daily care needs
- Support communication and engagement in the school environment
- Monitor student safety and respond to behavioral or medical needs
- Collaborate with school staff and support team
Supporting complex medical needs
Comfortable working in a care environment with potential exposure to bodily fluids (including saliva and vomit
Qualifications
- Experience required: LPN, CNA, or PCA background
- Must have completed paraeducator certification OR 60 college credits
- Candidates without these may apply if willing to take and pass the paraeducator exam prior to start (per Delaware DOE requirements effective Feb 1)
- Comfortable working with high-acuity students
Additional Requirements
- Fingerprinting (CBC): $85 (candidate-paid)
- Candidates must confirm willingness to complete and pay prior to submission
Additional Notes
- District preference for a female candidate for this role
- Short-term assignment with consistent full-time hours
