Respiratory Care Practitioner (RRT)

Respiratory Care Practitioner – St. Clare Hospital, Fenton (PRN) It’s more than a career, it’s a calling. We are hiring a Respiratory Care Practitioner to provide evaluation and care of respiratory therapy patients on an as‑needed basis. This is a PRN position with no guaranteed schedule or hours. Job Highlights PRN position – work as your schedule allows. Competitive pay with shift differentials for nights and weekends. No insurance or benefits for PRN status. Responsibilities Assess patients for appropriate type and frequency of treatment and develop a plan of care based on diagnosis. Provide respiratory care services in accordance with physician orders, department policies, and guidelines. Implement and monitor patient care plans and equipment. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition. Perform advanced respiratory care modalities. Evaluate respiratory practice, medication administration, and treatment based on outcomes. Educate patients and families about health condition and available community support groups. Assist with care, calibration and maintenance of all equipment. Participate in maintaining departmental inventory levels for supplies and equipment. Process equipment per established cleaning/sterilization procedures. Respond to medical emergencies and rapid responses. Work in a constant state of alertness and maintain a safe environment. Perform other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Associate’s degree in Respiratory Care or equivalent education and experience. No prior experience required. Physical Requirements Constant use of speech for oral communication. Constant standing, walking, frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0‑25 lbs. Frequent sitting, reaching, keyboard use/data entry. Frequent use of vision, depth perception, smell, hearing. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25‑50 lbs. Occasional moving of patients. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping. Occasional driving, rare crawling and running. Licensure & Certifications State of Missouri registration as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA). Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Other required professional license and/or certifications.
