Provides professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient‑Centered Care underpin all nursing activities. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times. Recognizes signs and symptoms of stroke, calls a stroke alert, verbalizes the stroke alert process, performs the NIHSS and bedside swallow, assists with telemedicine consult, and physician evaluation of thrombolytic therapy inclusion/exclusion criteria, including mixing, administration and monitoring. Prepares patients for endovascular treatment as indicated and assumes patient care in the Emergency Department. Maintains currency in stroke knowledge by completing NIHSS training and at least 8 hours of stroke‑related training annually. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited or NLN‑approved RN program Prefer one year of full‑time or three years of part‑time experience in an acute care setting BLS (current upon hire) ACLS, PALS, and/or required specialty training or course completion (or obtained within three months of employment) in required specialty Current Florida nursing license Must successfully pass any pre‑employment assessment(s) required by the facility EEO Statement All UHS subsidiaries are committed to providing an environment of mutual respect where equal employment opportunities are available to all applicants and teammates.
