Responsibilities
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process through accurate data entry, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Assist with month-end close, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports
- Maintain and update weekly financial analysis and reports for management
- Compile, analyze, and present financial data to management to support decision-making
- Record and review journal entries in accordance with GAAP and internal policies
- Reconcile bank and cash accounts, ensuring all transactions are properly classified and supported
- Manage daily cash activity, including importing receivables and payables, monitoring balances, and supporting cash flow management
- Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with payroll tax filings (quarterly and annual)
- Support the preparation of the annual Federal and State tax filings
- Maintain and update finance policies, procedures, and internal control documentation
- Provide accounting and bookkeeping support to partners for the effective management of the firm's financial operations
- Assist with general office and administrative duties as needed to support the accounting function
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs
- Familiarity with accounting software platforms (e.g., QuickBooks or similar) and payroll processing systems
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and month-end close processes
