Environmental Specialist III

DGS Office of External Affairs

This Environmental Specialist III position with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in Tallahassee oversees hazardous waste cleanup and drycleaning solvent cleanup projects as a contract and project manager. The role requires technical knowledge of environmental remediation, independent project management, contractor oversight, and compliance with federal and state environmental regulations including CERCLA and the National Contingency Plan. Key qualifications: Four years of verifiable related experience in engineering, environmental science, or natural sciences Knowledge of geology, hydrology, environmental chemistry, toxicology, or related environmental disciplines Skill in evaluating and interpreting scientific/technical data and writing technical documents Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and effectively communicate technical issues Valid driver's license and ability to enter hazardous waste sites Must complete OSHA Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response certification within six months #J-18808-Ljbffr
