Associate Director, CMC Project Management

Vir Biotechnology seeks an Associate Director of CMC Project Management to lead cross-functional development programs from early-stage through commercialization. The role coordinates manufacturing, analytical, quality, and regulatory teams while driving process improvements and operational excellence, reporting to the VP of CMC Strategy and Operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead CMC development programs from early-stage through regulatory filing and commercial lifecycle management
• Develop integrated project plans coordinating internal teams, external partners, vendors, and CMOs
• Identify risks and mitigation strategies; perform critical path analyses to accelerate timelines
• Facilitate cross-functional alignment on priorities, timelines, and resource allocation
• Standardize project reporting and portfolio management processes; support budgeting and resource forecasting

Requirements

• BS or MS in biotechnology, chemical engineering, biology, chemistry, or related scientific discipline
• 10+ years CMC development, regulatory affairs, quality, or technical operations experience
• 5+ years project or program management supporting drug development programs
• Experience leading complex cross-functional CMC programs across multiple development stages
• PhD, MBA, PMP, or PMI certification preferred
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical teams
