Maintenance Department Manager, Residential HVAC Services

Department ManagerWe have an opportunity for an experienced full-time Department Manager for our locally owned, residential HVAC services company. The Maintenance Department Manager is accountable to manage and develop a team of preventive maintenance technicians while providing our customers with the highest quality service experience in the local HVAC market.Our core values are more than just words, they guide our actions every day. We offer a highly competitive compensation package, a comprehensive benefits and retirement package, and a collaborative team atmosphere.Essential Duties and Responsibilities are as follows:Recruit & retain a high-performing professional team of techniciansFoster a culture aligned with Company values while leading, coaching, & developing team in support of departmental goalsMonitor department KPI's, customer feedback, financial results & operational metricsConduct field site visits to observe, coach & develop teamLead the administration and continuous improvement of customer membership programDevelop & deploy department strategies that drive revenue growth and employee & customer retentionPlan & facilitate department meetings, technical & soft-skill training, & on-going growth opportunities for the teamManage admin duties to include payroll approval, vehicle maintenance, safety & customer questions & concernsPartner with all other departments to improve customer experience, support company initiatives, & achieve org goalsIdentify customer and marketplace trends & strategize to meet changing needsAll other duties as assignedReports To: Director of OperationsHours: M-F 8am – 5pm, Saturday Manager schedule on rotationRequirements5+ years of management & leadership experience in a service industry; home services, construction, or skilled trades environment preferredDiploma required, bachelor's degree preferredHigh personal integrity & genuine desire to serve othersAbility to understand & utilize financial statements, budgets & KPI's to drive department performanceDemonstrated passion for coaching & development of employeesStrong communication skills to include verbal, written & presentationStrong computer aptitude with MS Office experience, & ability to utilize CRM & phone systems, scheduling software, and AI enabled customer communication toolsContinuous improvement mindsetFor nearly a century, Standard Heating & Air Conditioning has helped Twin Cities homeowners stay comfortable in their homes.
