Senior Accountant

Job Description

Our client, a private investment firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its real estate investment accounting team. The firm manages a multibillion-dollar portfolio of real estate investments across multiple property types and markets throughout the United States.

This position will support accounting and financial reporting for multiple private real estate investment funds. The role offers exposure to fund accounting, treasury, tax, audit, and investment operations, along with opportunities to work closely with other areas of the business.

\n

\n

Prior real estate or fund accounting experience is helpful but not required. This could be a good opportunity for someone with a strong accounting foundation who wants to develop expertise in private real estate investments.

\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Support quarterly and annual financial reporting for multiple real estate investment funds, including reviewing general ledgers, trial balances, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
\n
• Coordinate with joint venture partners to review property-level financials, evaluate liquidity, and support fund-level cash flow forecasting.
\n
• Assist with annual financial statement audits, including coordinating external auditor requests and reviewing supporting documentation and workpapers.
\n
• Work with third-party fund administrators to coordinate accounting activities, review financial reporting deliverables, and support investor reporting.
\n
• Assist with partnership tax reporting, including reviewing federal and state tax returns, Schedule K-1s, and related workpapers.
\n
• Support treasury activities, including wire transfers, cash balance monitoring, liquidity forecasting, and cash management.
\n
• Partner with Asset Management, Acquisitions, and Investor Relations on financial reporting, fund operations, and accounting projects.
\n
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automate workflows, and leverage technology to increase efficiency.

Qualifications

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
\n
• 2–4+ years of relevant accounting experience.
\n
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial statements, and general accounting principles.
\n
• Experience preparing or reviewing financial statements and supporting schedules.
\n
• Advanced Excel skills.
\n
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
\n
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
\n
• CPA or CPA candidate is a plus.
\n
• Real estate, fund accounting, partnership tax, or financial reporting experience is helpful but not required.
