Location and Compensation New York, NY (181st Street) Salary Range: $28.50/hr - $38.47/hr Position Overview The Operations Supervisor leads the day‑to‑day activities of the branch teller unit, modeling the highest level of customer service while processing transactions and resolving client issues. The role includes delegating work assignments, providing coaching and instruction to staff, ensuring timely and efficient completion of all client transactions in accordance with Apple Bank’s policies and procedures, and supporting the Branch Manager in performance appraisals, coaching/mentoring, and training new teller hires. Responsibilities Lead teller‑unit activities by motivating staff to provide superior customer service while performing routine banking and client service duties. Oversee teller sales and service goals, balancing operational duties to ensure transactions are handled accurately and efficiently. Manage work schedules and assign tasks as needed throughout the workday. Train new tellers to ensure procedures are understood and executed properly. Oversee daily operations, process routine banking transactions, and help tellers resolve complex customer issues and complaints, providing prompt, courteous, and efficient service to clients. Perform cash‑management duties, including monitoring reserve cash, distributing and collecting cash from tellers, handling daily settlements, conducting monthly teller cash audits, and maintaining records of discrepancies. Respond to immediate sales and service needs of the branch to reduce customer waiting time. Offer additional bank products and services by determining customer needs and informing them of new products/services or directing them to the appropriate personnel. Ensure teller‑unit staff actively participates in the referral of suitable bank products/services. Conduct performance reviews, providing objective, behavioral descriptions and outlining clear standards, goals, and responsibilities. Interview potential new hires and assist Branch Management with the selection of teller staff. Ensure compliance with federal regulations, including AML, BSA, and OFAC. Assist in the opening and closing of the cash vault and conduct proving of ATMs. Provide transaction approvals and perform teller duties as necessary. Adhere to Apple Bank’s Code of Conduct. Perform additional duties as requested. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred. 4+ years of customer service or bank operations experience. Prior supervisory experience in a bank setting required. Ability to motivate, train, develop, and evaluate staff. Strong analytical, organizational, and accuracy skills. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Strong computer skills and detailed knowledge of internal policies and procedures. Knowledge of banking floor operations, policies, and procedures. Proficient in basic to moderately complex mathematical calculations. Willingness to work weekend hours, extended hours, or substitute at neighboring branch locations. Team player with capability to travel for mandatory training when required.
