Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care on a mixed acuity unit serving PCU, MS Telemetry, and Medical-Surgical patients
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and manage dysrhythmias; titrate cardiac and insulin drips as indicated
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, ports, and perform phlebotomy
• Care for post-surgical patients including ENT, general surgery, trauma, and orthopedic surgery populations, as well as overflow medical diagnosis patients
• Perform and manage respiratory support including HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway management
• Float to designated sister units as required and adhere to every-other-weekend scheduling requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN license required prior to submission
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience; PCU/IMC experience within the last 3 years is required
• Proficiency in EPIC (hard requirement) and Pyxis
• Active ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Demonstrated skills in telemetry interpretation, IV insulin protocols, heparin protocols, blood product administration, wound care/wound vac, and isolation precautions
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification preferred
• TCAR (Transcarotid Artery Revascularization) experience preferred
• Experience with peripheral nerve block catheters, traction, and continuous bladder irrigation
