Staff Accountant

OVERVIEW We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team at Pura Vida Miami. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the restaurant and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies. This position requires a strong understanding of general accounting practices, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain accurate financial records by reconciling daily sales and restaurant revenue. Assist with processing and posting accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions. Ensure all payroll information is accurately entered and processed. Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures. Prepare and analyze financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and budget variances. Manage inventory and cost of goods sold (COGS) tracking, ensuring accurate reporting. Assist with budgeting and forecasting, providing insights into financial performance and trends. Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow management. Support the accounting team in preparing for audits and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. Maintain organized records and files in accordance with company policies and accounting standards. Collaborate with management to identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for financial improvement. Assist in preparing tax filings and related documentation as required. Perform other accounting duties as assigned by the Controller. REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the restaurant or hospitality industry. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create and manage complex spreadsheets. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. A proactive and problem-solving attitude.
