Registered Nurse RN Behavioral Health

Position Summary Primary City/State: Glendale, Arizona. Department: Behavior Hlth Sandia Unit-Hosp. Work Shift: Day. The role is a full‑time (3 shifts per week) Registered Nurse (RN) with a focus on behavioral health. The RN will care for a wide range of mental health diagnoses that require acute medical care in a recovery‑focused environment. $10,000 sign‑on incentive available for RNs with a minimum of 12 months behavioral health experience. Relocation is available for eligible candidates. Responsibilities Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs. Review patient history, physicals, diagnostics, and laboratory data. Formulate a patient‑specific plan of care, including discharge planning, based on assessment data and input from the patient, family, and health team. Implement the plan of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of the healthcare team. Document all actions in the patient record. Evaluate patient response to care and teaching, revise the plan of care as needed, and evaluate progress toward goals. Participate in research activities, shared leadership, and education of facility personnel, patients, families, and visitors. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and participate in professional organizations. Minimum Qualifications Current valid RN license in state of practice (or temporary/interim CN license) or a compact RN license. BLS certification required. One year of experience in an acute care hospital setting, or experience as an RN in a physician practice or acute care within the past 12 months. Experience in the clinical area for which the candidate is applying is desired. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred. Professional certification preferred.
