Senior Business and Sales Operations Domain Expert

Role Overview

Apply your business and sales operations expertise to help a leading AI research team improve how advanced AI models handle real-world operating work. You will turn practical operating judgment into clear standards, exemplary solutions, and rigorous evaluations while working within the client''s tools alongside research and program management teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Review business and sales operations tasks and model outputs for missing behaviors, weak reasoning, flawed assumptions, unreconciled numbers, and recommendations that would not hold up in an operating review.
• Create detailed instruction specifications, golden solutions, and realistic operations tasks that reflect professional practice.
• Design challenging benchmarks and evaluation sets that measure model improvement.
• Help develop domain-specific skills and tools with the research team.
• Partner with researchers and adjacent subject-matter specialists to calibrate standards and translate tacit operating judgment into explicit, teachable criteria.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of substantive ownership of a business, revenue, or sales operations function at a recognized organization. Individual quota-carrying sales experience without operations ownership does not qualify.
• Senior-level career progression, such as Manager, Senior Manager, Director, Vice President, COO, or President, with ownership of a function, budget, or team.
• Specialization in at least one relevant area, including sales operations; territory or quota design; revenue operations and forecasting; CRM and go-to-market systems; pricing and deal desk; supply chain and inventory planning; business analytics; or process improvement.
• Bachelor''s degree required. An MBA or comparable advanced degree is strongly preferred.
• Hands-on professional use of large language models and the judgment to distinguish sound reasoning from plausible but incorrect answers.
• Excellent written communication and the ability to provide precise, structured feedback.

Work Terms

• Full-time W-2 employment, with a 40-hour weekly commitment for an initial 6-month engagement.
• Hybrid role based in the Bay Area, California, requiring on-site work with the client team multiple days per week when needed.
• This is not a remote role. Candidates must live in the Bay Area or relocate there at their own expense before the engagement begins. Relocation assistance is not provided.
• Client-issued accounts and equipment will be provided.

Compensation

$60 to $100 per hour.
