Finance Domain Expert for AI Model Development

Help shape how next-generation AI models perform real financial work by providing deep, practical finance expertise to a GenAI research team. You will judge the quality of finance outputs, write instruction specifications and authoritative solutions that define correctness, and create benchmarks that measure genuine model improvement. This role places a practicing finance specialist directly on a research team, working inside the client''s tools and workflows.

• Data QA and reviews: Vet finance knowledge-work tasks and model outputs, identifying missing behaviors, weak reasoning, flawed assumptions, and answers that appear plausible but would not survive professional scrutiny.
• Instruction specs and golden datasets: Write high-quality instruction specifications, produce golden solutions to financial problems, and define new finance tasks that reflect real-world practice.
• Benchmarks and domain depth: Design challenging finance tasks and evaluation sets, and collaborate with researchers to build finance-specific skills and tools.
• Calibration: Work with researchers and adjacent specialists to align standards, converting tacit financial judgment into explicit, teachable criteria.

• Minimum 5 years of substantive, dedicated professional finance experience at a recognized institution, for example an investment bank, asset manager, private equity or credit fund, Big Four firm, large corporate finance function, or a financial regulator. Roles that only touch finance peripherally do not qualify.
• Deep specialization in at least one core finance discipline, such as corporate finance and FP&A, investment banking and M&A, asset or wealth management, private equity or private credit, quantitative finance and risk management, treasury, or accounting and audit.
• Senior-level progression with clear ownership, for example Vice President, Director, Principal, Managing Director, Portfolio Manager, Controller, or CFO, or equivalent senior individual-contributor experience.
• Advanced degree from a strong program and or recognized professional credential strongly preferred, for example MBA, MS, or PhD in finance, economics, accounting, or a quantitative field, or credentials such as CFA, CPA, FRM, or an actuarial designation.
• Practical familiarity with large language models in professional work, and the judgment to distinguish well-reasoned answers from plausible-sounding but incorrect outputs.
• Excellent written communication, with the ability to deliver precise, well-structured written feedback.
• Availability to commit reliably to 40 hours per week for an initial engagement of 6 months.

This is a full-time W-2 employment position with Cincinnatus LLC, filled as part of an extended workforce assignment at a leading AI research lab. You will be placed directly with the client, provisioned with client-issued accounts and equipment, and will work inside the client''s tools alongside their research teams. The role is hybrid, based in the Bay Area, California, and requires onsite presence multiple days per week when requested by the client.

Hourly pay range $100 to $150 per hour. Employment type is hourly W-2. The initial engagement length is 6 months, with a required commitment of 40 hours per week.

• Location: You must live in the Bay Area, California, and be able to work onsite with the client''s team multiple days per week when required. If you are not currently based in the Bay Area, you must be willing to relocate at your own cost before the engagement starts, relocation assistance is not provided.
