Senior Accounting and Audit Professional for AI Model Training

Help advance frontier AI systems by translating real-world accounting and audit judgment into rigorous tasks, reference solutions, and evaluation standards. You will work closely with an AI research and program management team, using your specialist experience to improve how models reason through complex accounting and audit work.

• Review accounting and audit knowledge-work tasks and model outputs for missing behaviors, weak reasoning, misapplied standards, unsupported treatments, and conclusions that would not withstand professional review.
• Write detailed instruction specifications and authoritative reference solutions for accounting and audit problems.
• Create practical tasks that reflect how accounting and audit work is performed in professional settings.
• Design demanding benchmarks and evaluation sets that measure model improvement.
• Partner with researchers and adjacent-domain specialists to develop domain-specific skills and tools.
• Translate nuanced professional judgment into consistent, explicit, teachable evaluation criteria.

• Active professional credential such as CPA, CA, CIA, CFE, or CMA, plus a bachelor''s or master''s degree in accounting or a closely related discipline.
• At least 4 years of substantive accounting or audit experience at a recognized public accounting firm, corporate controllership or finance function, internal audit department, or regulator. Bookkeeping-only experience does not qualify.
• Specialization in at least one area, such as external audit and assurance, technical accounting and financial reporting under US GAAP or IFRS, internal audit and SOX controls, tax, forensic accounting and fraud examination, or revenue recognition.
• Demonstrated progression to a senior role, such as Audit Manager, Senior Manager, Accounting Manager, Controller, Director of Accounting, or Partner, with ownership of engagements or reporting cycles.
• Hands-on professional use of large language models and the ability to distinguish sound reasoning from plausible but incorrect responses.
• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to provide precise, well-structured feedback.

• Full-time W-2 employment, with client-issued accounts and equipment and close collaboration within the client''s tools and workflows.
• Hybrid role based in the Bay Area, California. On-site work with the client team is required multiple days per week as needed; this is not a remote position.
• Applicants must live in the Bay Area or relocate there at their own expense before the engagement begins. Relocation assistance is not available.
• Reliable commitment of 40 hours per week for an initial 6-month engagement.
• This is a structured, role-based position rather than a freelance engagement.

$60 to $100 per hour.
