Senior Finance Professional for AI Model Development

Role Overview

Help advance frontier AI models by bringing professional finance judgment to the evaluation, design, and improvement of financial knowledge-work tasks. You will work closely with AI research and program teams to define what high-quality financial reasoning looks like in real-world practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Review finance tasks and model outputs, identifying missing behaviors, weak reasoning, flawed assumptions, and responses that would not meet professional standards.
• Create instruction specifications, golden solutions, and finance tasks grounded in how financial work is performed in practice.
• Design challenging benchmarks and evaluation sets to measure model improvement, and help develop finance-specific skills and tools.
• Collaborate with researchers and adjacent-domain specialists to calibrate standards and translate professional financial judgment into clear, teachable criteria.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of dedicated professional finance experience at a recognized institution, such as an investment bank, asset manager, private equity or credit fund, Big Four firm, large corporate finance function, or financial regulator. Roles with only peripheral finance exposure do not qualify.
• Specialization in at least one core discipline, including corporate finance and FP&A, investment banking and M&A, asset or wealth management, private equity or private credit, quantitative finance and risk management, treasury, or accounting and audit.
• Progression to a senior individual-contributor or leadership role, such as Vice President, Director, Principal, Managing Director, Portfolio Manager, Controller, or CFO, with ownership of analysis and decisions.
• Advanced degree in finance, economics, accounting, or a quantitative field, and/or a recognized credential such as CFA, CPA, FRM, or an actuarial designation, strongly preferred.
• Hands-on professional use of large language models and the ability to distinguish sound reasoning from plausible but incorrect answers.
• Excellent written communication and the ability to provide precise, well-structured feedback.

Work Terms

• Full-time W-2 employment, with a reliable commitment of 40 hours per week.
• Hybrid role based in the Bay Area, California. Candidates must live in the Bay Area and work on-site with the client team multiple days each week when required.
• This is not a remote role. Candidates who do not currently live in the Bay Area must relocate at their own expense before the engagement begins; relocation assistance is not available.
• Client-issued accounts and equipment will be provided, and work will be completed in the client’s tools alongside its research teams.

Compensation

$110 to $150 per hour.
