Mission StatementOur mission is to provide a high quality facility and service to older adults in an atmosphere which enhances the quality of life and fosters independence, self-sufficiency, respect, dignity and security within a framework reflecting our core values- respect, competence, excellence, social responsibility, learning, innovation, compassion, community as well as mutual caring and concern for those served and those employed.BenefitsCompetitive pay, flexible schedules, hiring bonus, refer a friend bonus, 401 K, PTO, life insurance, health insurance, short term disability, FSA.Basic FunctionThrough utilization of the nursing process perform nursing duties within the scope of practice, under the direction of a registered nurse.Essential DutiesObserve resident's condition and response to treatment and take necessary and appropriate action as required.Recognize and report significant resident condition changes and take appropriate nursing action.Administer medications and treatments accurately according to facility policy and procedure.Participate in observation of nurse aide performance.Transcribe physician's telephone and written orders accurately.Document nursing care rendered, resident response to treatment, and other pertinent resident data in the medical record.Attend facility inservices to remain current in nursing practice.Practice acceptable infection control procedures, specifically hand washing, universal precaution isolation, aseptic, and sterile dressing technique.Adhere to all facility and department safety policies and procedures.Assist patient in performance of ADL skills.Provide input for the development of individualized care plans and implement accordingly.Supervise nursing assistants with various assignments.Supervision ReceivedReceives supervision from the Charge Nurse or RN on Call.QualificationsGraduation from an approved L.P.N. training program.Wisconsin licensure as a Trained Practical Nurse.Advanced course in the administration of medications is desirable.Employee must have had no abuse convictions.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to communicate and work well with patients and staff members.Ability to follow facility policies and procedures.Ability to remain current in practice as applicable to job.Ability to speak the English language in an understandable manner.Ability to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to assure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.Ability to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, mentally ill, emotionally upset and at times hostile and violent residents within the facility.We are an equal opportunity employer and prohibit discrimination/harassment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
