This full-time contract opportunity focuses on working with 2nd grade students, providing crucial support within an elementary caseload through the end of the school year. You'll benefit from collaborating with a passionate, student-centered team as you build meaningful connections and foster student growth.
Qualifications and Required Experience:
- Valid Michigan Special Education (Sped) teaching license
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, particularly in 2nd grade, is highly preferred
- Understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and implementing tailored instructional strategies
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Collaborative mindset and enthusiasm for supporting the diverse learning needs of students
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and targeted interventions for students on your caseload
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations
- Create a safe and positive classroom atmosphere to encourage student success
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and other support staff
- Track and document student progress, maintaining accurate records and regular communication with families
- Participate in IEP meetings, team planning sessions, and professional development as required
