Assistant Store Manager

The Assistant Store Manager is the second-in-command at the Beverly Hills flagship and a key partner to the Store Manager. This role is deeply client-facing and commercial, with a strong focus on client development, driving sales, and setting the tone on the floor. At Gabriela Hearst, this position requires a leader who understands that luxury is built through discretion, knowledge, and meaningful relationships. The Sales & Client Experience Manager leads by example, builds trust with clients and team alike, and ensures that every interaction reflects the brand’s values, craftsmanship, and point of view. Key Responsibilities Act as a senior client advisor and role model on the floor, consistently driving personal sales and meaningful client relationships. Build and nurture a strong VIC and high-potential client base, with a long-term, relationship-driven mindset. Partner closely with the Store Manager to shape and execute client development strategies, including private appointments, outreach, and follow-up. Lead by example in clienteling, appointment-based selling, after-sales care, and bespoke or special orders. Support key moments such as in store events, senior leadership visits, VM executions, ensuring thoughtful preparation and execution. Serve as a day-to-day leader on the floor, helping organize coverage, appointments, and selling priorities. Support onboarding and ongoing development of stylists, reinforcing Gabriela Hearst service standards, selling behaviors, and brand storytelling. Coach in the moment when beneficial, offering clear, respectful feedback that elevates performance while preserving team morale. Act as a trusted partner to the team, supporting complex client situations, product knowledge, and operational needs. Step into a leadership role seamlessly when the Store Manager is not present. Product Flow, Holds & Consignments Oversee product flow on the sales floor, ensuring key styles are available for top clients and priority selling moments. Manage client holds, consignments, and special requests with discipline, transparency, and strong follow-through. Partner with the Store Manager and merchandising teams to anticipate needs, prioritize transfers, and support business goals. Maintain accuracy and accountability across all inventory-related client activity. Client Experience & Store Standards Uphold the highest standards of client experience, hospitality, and discretion in line with the Gabriela Hearst brand. Ensure the store environment reflects brand standards, from visual presentation to tone, pace, and energy on the floor. Be attentive to detail and nuance, understanding that excellence in luxury is often felt rather than stated. Act as a steward of the brand, ensuring consistency in how the brand is represented to clients and partners. Business & Operational Partnership Support the Store Manager in driving daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance. Assist with reviewing business trends and identifying opportunities to improve conversion, retention, and client engagement. Ensure policies, processes, and systems are followed with professionalism and discretion.
