Housekeeper (Custodian) | Starting at $19/hour Location: Plainview, NY Schedule: Part-Time | Saturday & Sunday | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM Compensation: Starting at $19/hour Join Long Island Veterinary Specialists (LIVS) as a part-time Custodian in Plainview, NY. Our facilities team plays an important role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, clients, and veterinary professionals. This is a great opportunity for someone with custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or cleaning experience who takes pride in their work, enjoys staying active, and wants to support a team dedicated to exceptional veterinary care. 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Responsibilities Clean and sanitize exam rooms, treatment areas, kennels, and common spaces throughout the hospital Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and maintain floors and surfaces Remove trash and dispose of waste according to hospital protocols Clean and restock restrooms and staff areas Restock supplies throughout the hospital as needed Assist with laundry and linen management Follow hospital sanitation, safety, and infection‑control procedures Help maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming environment for patients, clients, and staff Assist with snow removal and facility‑related emergencies when needed Qualifications Previous custodial, janitorial, housekeeping, or cleaning experience preferred but not required Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness Reliable, punctual, and dependable Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Professional, respectful, and team‑oriented attitude Comfortable working in an animal hospital environment Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks including lifting, bending, stretching, and moving throughout the shift Ability to work in various weather conditions when necessary Fluent English speaking and reading skills required About Long Island Veterinary Specialists For more than 25 years, Long Island Veterinary Specialists has been a trusted AAHA‑accredited specialty and emergency veterinary hospital serving Long Island and the greater metropolitan area.
