Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Dietary Aide II.


In this role, the successful candidate Performs a variety of duties including preparation and/or service of food on the patient trayline, work in the dishroom or potroom, serving as the porter or kitchen cleaner, and receipt of items via truck delivery. Assists in ordering, receiving, verifying, unpacking, and storing of food products, paper supplies, etc. Performs duties related to cleaning of storerooms and refrigerators. Assists in the preparation and delivery of food for meetings and special functions.

Job Responsibilities:

• Takes inventory of paper supplies in accordance with established par levels. Assists with the input of information relating to food purchasing into the computer, as needed. May send orders for food and paper goods to Purchasing.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Properly sets up work stations for the efficiency of meal service. Able to read patient menus on tray line. Able to serve at steam table using correct portion control utensils.
• Transports food items for catering as per designated times on the catering scheduling sheets. Properly sets up work stations for the efficiency of meal service.
• Follows work assignments correctly. Practices safe handling of cleaning chemicals. Follows proper safety procedures of food preparation. Understands the difference in diets offered.
• Cleans up work stations in dishroom and trayline. Follows proper sanitation and infection control procedures.
• Ensures that delivered food merchandise is verified and stored properly in accordance with departmental and regulatory agency standards. Maintains storerooms and refrigerators in clean and orderly fashion in accordance with departmental and regulatory agency standards.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or GED Required.
Strong communication (both oral and written), and customer service skills Required.
Ability read well and write legibly Required.
Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions Required.

Preferred Qualifications:
1-2 years In Food Service Preferred. 1-2 years In Food Service Storeroom or Inventory Preferred. Basic computer skills Preferred.

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $24.60 - $24.60 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
