Position Overview As a Commercial Service Electrician, you will work directly with commercial and residential customers to provide high-quality, code-compliant electrical solutions throughout the DMV area. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, panels, and equipment in both commercial and residential settings — running calls independently while collaborating with the broader service team to ensure exceptional customer outcomes. You will also mentor an assigned apprentice, helping to develop the next generation of skilled electricians on our team. What You Will Be Doing Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, panels, and equipment in commercial and residential settings. Install conduit systems, feeder wire, and electrical panels. Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide effective, code-compliant solutions. Identify and resolve safety hazards and code violations, ensuring all work meets the NEC and applicable Maryland and local standards. Repair or replace broken or faulty electrical equipment. Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for both commercial and residential projects. Perform safety checks on electrical equipment to ensure compliance with safety regulations and the NEC. Train, mentor, and provide hands‑on guidance to assigned apprentices to promote skill development and safe work practices. Communicate clearly and consistently with customers, team members, and the office to ensure job completion and customer satisfaction. Maintain accurate job records, including work performed, materials used, and time spent. Acquire all materials necessary to complete approved service calls and projects efficiently. Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professionalism, positive communication, and expert service. Identify and present additional service opportunities to support customer safety and satisfaction. Adhere to all company policies and safety protocols, including the safe operation of a company vehicle. Required Qualifications Valid Maryland State Journeyperson Electrician License (or a valid license from a state with Maryland reciprocity), with a minimum of 3 years of electrical experience. High School Diploma or GED. Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable Maryland codes. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Ability to pass a background check and drug test. Strong proficiency in English — both written and verbal — to ensure effective communication with customers, team members, and the office. Ability to work with hand tools and safely operate power tools. Ability to lift 50+ pounds, squat, bend, and climb ladders as required by the job. Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail. Willingness to travel daily within the DMV service area. Preferred Qualifications OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. CPR / First Aid certification. Experience with Service Fusion or similar field service management software. Residential electrical service experience — this role runs both commercial and residential calls, so dual experience is highly valuable. Compensation & Benefits Compensation Wage Range: $28.00 – $48.00 per hour, based on skills and experience. Weekly pay. Weekly cell phone reimbursement.
